Munakata currently serves as LF board director, AGL Advisory Board, and Yocto Advisory board representing Renesas. At Renesas, he is responsible for R-Car series SoC Linux BSP and solution development. The BSP creation process fully utilizes the stable-kernel development scheme and yocto packaging methodology. And he also convinces the company's junior developers to jump into the OSS community. R-Car device support in the mainline kernel is in pretty good shape by adopting the upstream-first development philosophy at Renesas internal SW delivery process. And as it has improved customer experience a lot, corporate management is getting understands the value of community collaboration.
