Plan your Learnings - Can Friendly User Testing After SoP Become a Common Practice? - Philipp Ahmann & Naohiro Nishiguchi, ADIT - Advanced Driver Information Technology GmbH
Feedback form is now closed.
Taking a look into how modern SW development and DevOps works, with thousands of deployments per day, you can see the speed of development in which also new beta features are directly tested and analyzed in the field, by data provided by the customer (without even recognizing). Automotive pioneers already start to use this practice to provide OTA feature updates into the car and the driver of a car comes much closer to participate in friendly user testing. Taking a look into mobile business, aspects like beta-tests and voluntary crash reports are common practice even for bleeding edge technology and service providers (like google). Can we make use of this in the car? This session should not find a solution, but bring together different views and open the mind to the audience to plan your learnings along the chain until the end of life of a car and not stopping at the point of SoP. If this would become common sense, it can serve as a strong benefit to enhance stability and robustness of platform development for current and next generations of ECUs. Opening our mind here may even help us to use Linux for safety applications as the ELISA project is aiming for.
