Adding AArch64 Support in the OpenJ9 Java Virtual Machine - Kazuhiro Konno, IBM Japan
Feedback form is now closed.
In April 2020 the open source Eclipse OpenJ9 project released the early access version for AArch64 on Linux in its JDK 11 release. This begins to bring the same performance, features, and stability of the OpenJ9 Java virtual machine already available on other platforms to 64-bit Arm processors. OpenJ9's heritage is the IBM J9 Java SDK, which has a long history of delivering function and performance from small embedded devices to large servers. This talk will discuss our journey to bring OpenJ9 to AArch64, implementation details, the current status of the port, and some of the exciting work in plan. Come learn about the performance, footprint, and features of OpenJ9 on 64-bit Arm, as well as the status of the Eclipse OpenJ9 project in general.
